Sometimes it is all in the detail of the scene that captures the imagination. The abstract nature of the overall image in the view finder. The colours, the textures, the chiaroscuro of the tonal subtleties that make the image come to life. These are just but a few photographs that demonstrate these principles in almost monochromatic visuals, from a diversity of mediums.

ASSIGNMENTS – LAND DEVELOPMENT AGENCY. CANBERRA

Photographic assignments form an intrinsic part of the job description of Hughson Isles Advertising and have been one of the most enjoyable tasks I have undertaken in my years in the Ad business.

Not only is the pre-requisite to capture those essential commercially viable images but also the opportunity to store shapes, textures, colours and narratives that while not fulfilling the commercial brief are worth retaining.

The Land and Development Agency ACT, retained Hughson Isles to submit various Award Nomination Documents which went on to achieve a higher than expected representation in the Housing Industry Awards over consecutive years. The result was almost 300 images over a 2-day shoot, filed, catalogued, colour corrected and in essential cases retouched.

 

PEOPLE

Most of my portraiture has been opportunistic. That is just observing a situation or location that is moment in time worth capturing. However introduced into this batch of photos are some images that resulted from ‘candid moments’ while on assignment.
